Ni Hao

We have been busy. Tyler has three basketball games this week alone. Amelia and Tyler started Chinese School so every Saturday we are committed. Amelia is soaking up her first language like a sponge and knows hundreds of Chinese words already. She is starting to use them in her everyday conversation and being I attend the class with her, I should know what she is saying right? Wrong! My memory isn't quite as sharp as hers so I am constantly asking her what she is saying or how I am supposed to pronounce a certain word. Tyler is very supportive of his sister's culture needs and is learning to speak, read and write in Chinese.

Amelia got her ears pierced a few weeks ago - her reward for no more pull ups at bedtime. She is proud of her earrings and told a hotel staff person this weekend that her earrings are 14 carat gold. I just about died when she said that. She must have overheard the sales person at Claires tell me that. Tyler has three basketball games left and then it's on to golf.

5 years and counting . . . .

February 7th was our 5 year wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe that much time has passed us by. I always thought we would do our second honeymoon on our 5 year but instead - we took Tyler, Amelia and one of Tyler's friends to Wisconsin Dells this weekend. We had a blast and spent our celebrating doting on the children - there's nothing we get more enjoyment doing. We have big plans for our 10 year - the meditterean cruise I've always dreamt of. We are starting to take donations now (just kidding).

14 years

Tomorrow is Tyler's 14th Birthday! I won't have time to blog so I thought I better share this news now. He is having his first boy/girl party tomorrow night. Everyone pray that our home is still in one piece on Saturday. On Sunday we are celebrating with our extended family. Tyler opened his gifts from us tonight. We got him the Wii fit. Amelia gave him a board game called ticket to ride.

Not much else is new with us. Just busy getting ready for the parties this weekend. Next Saturday Amelia starts a Chinese language school. That will keep us busy for the next 14 weeks and will end just in time for summer!
